Why is the person gone from the jail list? A current custody view is designed to show people held now. A released person will often drop off. Absence may also reflect transfer, a data update, or a mismatched search, so it must be paired with a dated release or receiving-agency entry.

IDOC says public information can include status, parent institution, location, admission and release dates, and sentence data. Its live search, however, practically returns people incarcerated or on parole. For a fully discharged record that no longer appears, use IDOC Record Search or FOIA. A no-result does not prove the date of discharge.

Pittsfield hosts the sheriff's county jail and an IDOC minimum-security work camp parented by Jacksonville Correctional Center. Their shared city does not create shared data.
