Pike Release Photos and Records
A booking photograph records appearance at booking. It does not show the case outcome, prove a conviction, or establish where the person is now. Release from Pike County Jail also does not erase the underlying image automatically. Access depends on retention, Illinois law, exemptions, sealing or expungement orders, and the agency holding that particular record.
Illinois Local Records Act 50 ILCS 205/3b addresses enumerated arrest information available to news media and includes a photograph when available, subject to actual reproduction costs and juvenile limits. It is not an unconditional promise that every old image remains public forever. A narrow request lets the sheriff apply the current law to the actual Pike record.

No single Pike search covers all photo types. Choose the channel that created the image and confirm its limits.

Commercial aggregators are poor release evidence. An image may remain long after a case changes, and a copied page may omit disposition. Pike research identified no reliable reason to use or endorse pay-to-remove publishers. Official records, court orders, and direct correction routes are stronger.
Pike Sheriff App Has Limits
The Pike sheriff publishes a weekly Incarceration Query through Weekly Arrests. Its visible columns include name, identity and address details, Confined, Released, arresting agency, and allegation or charge. No photo appears in the visible table. The report can confirm a release date, but it is not a mugshot gallery and should not be described as one.
An official OCV-built iOS app also exists. The observed Pike County Sheriff's Office app listing advertises crime reporting, tips, interactive features, and public-safety news. It does not advertise inmate lookup, releases, or mugshots. The screenshot below documents that feature boundary.
The app's existence therefore cannot support a claim that Pike County booking photos are searchable there. Use the 24-hour release route for same-day date checks and Records for the photo itself.
Request Pike County Booking Photos
The Pike Sheriff's Records page directs FOIA mail to Attn: FOI at 204 E. Adams Street, Pittsfield, IL 62363. It also publishes fax 217-285-4334 and email abrawdy@pikecountysd.org. Confirm the live submission route before sending personal details. Ask for the image separately from the release sheet because the records may be stored apart.
- Identify the person with a full name and useful distinguishing facts, plus an approximate booking date.
- Use the official sheriff form and ask for the booking photograph if retained and subject to disclosure.
- Also request the release date, release authority, case or booking number, and transfer destination when context is needed.
- Ask for electronic delivery and advance notice of fees. Pike publishes no local per-page schedule.
- If material is withheld, ask for the cited legal basis and any segregable nonexempt part.
Illinois FOIA, 5 ILCS 140, generally requires a response to a noncommercial request within five business days, subject to a permitted extension and exceptions. That deadline is for the response, not a guarantee of production. Juvenile rules, privacy, law-enforcement needs, sealing orders, and retention can affect the result.
Pike Photo Context After Release
Official Pike news may include an image for a specific public-safety event, but the caption controls its meaning. Do not recaption a news image as a release photo unless the source says so. Likewise, the Illinois State Police registry may publish photographs only for people covered by registration law. A registry image is not the Pike booking photo and cannot establish the time of release.
IDOC says current individual profiles can carry photographs. That channel serves state custody, including Pittsfield Work Camp, rather than an ordinary county-only booking. IDOC also states that photos of former individuals in custody are confidential. A fully discharged state record may be sought through Record Search for public release fields, but a former IDOC photograph should not be promised as a FOIA result.
Always pair an image with the originating agency, capture date, arrest context, and later court or release record. The Pike County released-inmate record path helps locate those separate facts.
Correct Pike County Photo Records
Expungement generally means qualifying records are destroyed or returned as law directs. Sealing limits public access while specified agencies may retain access. Eligibility and procedure depend on the case, disposition, waiting rules, and 20 ILCS 2630/5.2. A missing public search result does not prove that a judge entered either order.
If an official Pike image is wrong, restricted, or connected to an entered court order, contact the office that published or retains it. Supply the exact record, source URL if any, and authoritative correction or order. For a copied image elsewhere, send that publisher the same proof. Do not pay a site merely because it demands money to change criminal-record information.
Illinois's 815 ILCS 505/2QQQ makes it unlawful for a publisher or disseminator of criminal-record information, including booking-type photos and dispositions, to solicit or accept payment to remove, correct, or modify it. The law is not a blanket publication ban and does not prove every image must disappear upon release.
Pike Record-Clearing Form Help
The Pike County Legal Self-Help Center is listed at Pittsfield Public Library, 205 N. Memorial Street. It offers legal information, forms, and referrals for navigating statewide procedures. It does not give legal advice and cannot predict eligibility or the outcome of a request.
Illinois Courts also publishes approved expungement and sealing forms. A signed court order is the key record. Once entered, send it to the responsible official source and any lawful downstream publisher that still shows outdated information.
Pike Releases Without Photo Gallery
Pike's weekly report is valuable precisely because it provides separate Confined and Released columns. Its lack of a visible photo does not weaken the release date, and the existence of a photo elsewhere does not strengthen it. These are different records answering different questions.
Use the weekly row to identify the custody episode. Use the court docket for disposition. Request the sheriff photograph only when identity context is needed. This narrow sequence avoids treating an arrest image as proof of guilt, transfer destination, supervision, or present status.
Match Pike Photos to Records
A common name and an old photograph are not enough to identify a Pike release. Start with the weekly report's age, confined date, arresting agency, and allegation context. Then connect the matching Pike court case by name or case number. If a sheriff photo is produced, retain the response date and record description so the image does not become detached from its source.
Different systems issue different identifiers. A county booking number is not an IDOC number. Neither is a federal register number or immigration A-number. Use the correct identifier only in the system that issued it. A failed search caused by the wrong field cannot prove that the person was never booked, released, or transferred.

Correct Outdated Pike Mugshot Context
When the image is accurate but its caption is not, request correction of the caption and linked status rather than claiming the original booking never occurred. Provide a certified disposition, dismissal, amended order, sealing or expungement order, or sheriff release record as appropriate. The originating Pike office should address its own record; a separate publisher controls its own copy subject to law.
A court dismissal does not itself state the exact physical release time, and pretrial release does not end the criminal case. A transfer is not freedom. An IDOC projected date is not an accomplished release. Keeping those limits beside a photograph gives the record a fair and accurate meaning.
